Explanation
Ar-Rahim is the special, targeted mercy of Allah exclusively reserved for the believers in the Hereafter. While Ar-Rahman is general mercy for all creation, Ar-Rahim is the intense, personal mercy Allah shows His faithful servants. It appears 114 times in the Quran — once per surah in the Bismillah.
