Explanation
Al-Muhsi is the Accounter, the Numberer of All. He knows the exact number of every single thing in existence — the number of grains of sand, the number of leaves on every tree, the number of breaths every human will take. More importantly, He accounts for every single deed, word, and intention of humanity. Nothing is lost in His calculation. "And they will find what they did present [before them]" (18:49).

Understanding Al-Muhsi brings a powerful sense of accountability (taqwa). Reciting "Ya Muhsi" is used to develop focus and a sharp memory, as it connects the mind to the One who perfectly retains all information.
