Explanation
Al-'Adl is the Embodiment of Absolute Justice. He is equitable and fair, never oppressing a soul even by the weight of an atom (4:40). Al-'Adl puts everything in its proper place. His justice is perfect because it is combined with His infinite knowledge (Al-'Alim) and mercy (Ar-Rahman). Every decree, every hardship, and every reward from Allah is fundamentally just, even if human limited understanding cannot immediately perceive it.

Writing or reciting "Ya 'Adl" on Friday nights is mentioned by scholars as a means to inspire obedience and fairness in others. Understanding this name removes anger at the Divine decree, as the believer knows Al-'Adl never wrongs anyone.
