Explanation
Al-Matin is the Firm, the Steadfast, the Unshakable. While Al-Qawi means having absolute strength, Al-Matin means that this strength is perfectly firm, enduring, and cannot be moved or exhausted. A rope that is "matin" is one that cannot be snapped. Allah's decrees are matin, His promises are matin, and His power does not experience fatigue or weakness. "And We did not experience any weariness" (50:38).
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting "Ya Matin" provides firmness in faith, especially during times of trial when doubts arise. For nursing mothers facing difficulty, scholars have traditionally advised calling upon Al-Matin for endurance and provision.
