Explanation
Al-Mu'akhkhir is the Delayer, the One who puts back. Just as He brings things forward, He delays things according to His perfect wisdom. He delays the punishment of the oppressors to give them time to repent (or to multiply their sins). He delays the answer to a du'a because the timing is not yet right. Understanding Al-Mu'akhkhir cures impatience and the frustration of waiting.
Virtues & Benefits
Calling upon Al-Mu'akhkhir brings patience (sabr) to a restless heart. It helps the believer understand that a delay is not a denial. The Prophet ﷺ paired this name with Al-Muqaddim in his night prayers, recognizing Allah's absolute control over timing.

إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الْأَبْصَارُ
