Explanation
Al-Wali is the Protective Friend, the Ally, the Patron. A "wali" is someone who is close to you, loves you, and takes responsibility for your well-being. Allah is the Wali of the believers — He guides them, defends them, and brings them from darkness to light. If Allah is your Wali, you need no other protector. He takes personal care of the affairs of those who devote themselves to Him.

Reciting "Ya Wali" builds a profound sense of intimacy and friendship with Allah. The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah declares: "Whoever shows enmity to a Wali of Mine, I declare war against him." Being a friend of Al-Wali offers the ultimate cosmic protection.
