Explanation

Al-Wahhab is the unrestricted Giver — the One who gives freely, without condition, without expectation of return, and without ever depleting. "Hiba" in Arabic means a pure gift with no strings attached. Allah gives His servants gifts they did not earn: the gift of iman, the gift of life, the gift of health, the gift of time. Al-Wahhab gives not because of what you did, but because of His own generosity.

Virtues & Benefits

The du'a of the people of understanding (Quran 3:8) uses this name: "Wahb lana min ladunka rahmah — bestow upon us from Yourself mercy." Reciting this 40 times after obligatory prayers is reported to open doors of provision from unexpected directions.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ

"Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are Al-Wahhab (the Bestower)." - Surah Al-Imran (3:8)

Make a list of 10 things in your life you received without earning — your existence, your senses, someone's love, an opportunity that came from nowhere. For each one, say "Shukran Ya Wahhab." Then make a specific du'a for one thing you desperately need, asking Al-Wahhab as a gift from His generosity, not as something you deserve.

Ask Al-Wahhab for gifts beyond what you "deserve" — He gives from His own generosity, not based on your merit.
Give generously without expectation of return — mirror Al-Wahhab's quality of pure giving.
Thank Allah for gifts you did not earn: your eyesight, your mind, your iman.
When du'a seems unanswered, remember: Al-Wahhab may be preparing a greater gift than you asked for.
