Explanation
Al-Jabbar comes from "jabara" — to set broken bones, to repair what is fractured. Allah is Al-Jabbar in two profound senses: (1) He compels all things according to His will — nothing resists Him, and (2) He repairs and restores broken hearts, broken lives, broken people. The jabr (setting of a bone) brings healing through what first appears as force. This is why Al-Jabbar is the name for those who feel shattered.
