Explanation
Al-Muhyi is the Giver of Life. He grants biological life to bodies, spiritual life to hearts through faith, and intellectual life to minds through knowledge. Just as He brings dead, barren land to life with rain, He brings dead hearts to life with the Quran. Life is solely in His hands; doctors can treat, but only Al-Muhyi can breathe life.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting "Ya Muhyi" brings spiritual vitality to a deadened, depressed heart. It is recited for healing from severe illness. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to say upon waking: "Alhamdulillahil-ladhi ahyana..." (Praise be to Allah who gave us life...).

Surah Ar-Rum (30:50)
فَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ آثَارِ رَحْمَتِ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ يُحْيِي الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ
"So observe the effects of the mercy of Allah - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead." - Surah Ar-Rum (30:50)
