Explanation
Al-Hasib means both the Accounter and the Sufficient One. First, He keeps a precise, flawless account of every single deed, word, and thought, and will judge accordingly. Second, "Hasb" means sufficient; Allah is entirely sufficient for His servants. When a believer says "Hasbunallah wa ni'mal wakil" (Allah is sufficient for us), they are invoking Al-Hasib to take care of their affairs completely.
Virtues & Benefits
Reciting "Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakil" was the practice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) when thrown into the fire, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ at Uhud. Reciting "Ya Hasib" 70 times on Thursdays is said to protect one from fear of being robbed or wronged.
