Explanation
Al-Khafid is the One who abases, humbles, and lowers. Allah lowers the arrogant, the oppressors, and the enemies of truth. He lowers whom He wills through His justice, removing their honor, rank, and worldly status. At the same time, this attribute works with Ar-Rafi (The Exalter) — Allah lowers the false to elevate the truth, and humbles the ego so the soul can rise.
Virtues & Benefits
Reflecting on Al-Khafid protects the heart from arrogance (kibr). Those who humble themselves before Allah are promised elevation, while those who act with pride invite the abasement of Al-Khafid. The Prophet ﷺ said: "No one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah elevates him." (Muslim)
