Explanation
Al-'Azim is the Magnificent, the Supremely Great. His greatness is beyond human comprehension. Everything in creation is insignificantly small compared to His majesty. The word "Azim" comes from "Azm" (bone), signifying core strength and grandeur. When a believer truly understands the magnificence of Al-'Azim, the problems, tyrants, and distractions of the world become vanishingly small in their eyes.
Virtues & Benefits
In every Ruku (bowing) in prayer, we say "Subhana Rabbiyal 'Azim" (Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent). The Prophet ﷺ said that reciting "SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, SubhanAllahil 'Azim" are two phrases light on the tongue but heavy on the scales.
