Explanation
Al-Mani' is the Preventer, the Withholder, the Defender. He prevents harm from reaching His servants by intercepting accidents and calamities. Conversely, He may withhold (prevent) wealth, a specific job, or a marriage from a person because He knows it would cause them spiritual or physical harm. His withholding is actually a form of His protection and mercy.
Virtues & Benefits
The Prophet ﷺ used to say after every prayer: "O Allah, none can prevent what You give, and none can give what You prevent." Reciting "Ya Mani'" is a powerful shield against harm, magic, and the plots of enemies.

أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُ
"Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision?" - Surah Al-Mulk (67:21)

- When a door is slammed in your face (a job rejection, a broken engagement), say Alhamdulillah; Al-Mani' just protected you.
