Jumada al-Thani (also called Jumada al-Akhirah) is the sixth month of the Islamic calendar, marking the end of the first half of the Hijri year. The name means "the last of the parched land." This month serves as a transitional period before the sacred month of Rajab begins. The death of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA), the first Caliph of Islam and closest companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), occurred on 22 Jumada al-Thani 13 AH (634 CE). Abu Bakr (RA) is considered the greatest companion of the Prophet and played a crucial role in preserving Islam after the Prophet's passing. His caliphate, though only two years long, consolidated the Muslim community and initiated the compilation of the Quran. Muslims are encouraged to study his life and follow his example of steadfast faith and dedication.
