Narrated Abu Huraira:When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) died and Abu Bakr became the caliph some Arabs renegade (reverted to disbelief) (Abu Bakr decided to declare war against them), `Umar, said to Abu Bakr, "How can you fight with these people although Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, 'I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight the people till they say: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and whoever said it then he will save his life and property from me except on trespassing the law (rights and conditions for which he will be punished justly), and his accounts will be with Allah.' " Abu Bakr said, "By Allah! I will fight those who differentiate between the prayer and the Zakat as Zakat is the compulsory right to be taken from the property (according to Allah's orders) By Allah! If they refuse to pay me even a she-kid which they used to pay at the time of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . I would fight with them for withholding it" Then `Umar said, "By Allah, it was nothing, but Allah opened Abu Bakr's chest towards the decision (to fight) and I came to know that his decision was right
ہم سے ابوالیمان حکم بن نافع نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہمیں شعیب بن ابی حمزہ نے خبر دی ‘ ان سے زہری نے کہا کہ ہم سے عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ بن عتبہ بن مسعود نے بیان کیا کہ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فوت ہو گئے اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ خلیفہ ہوئے تو عرب کے کچھ قبائل کافر ہو گئے ( اور کچھ نے زکوٰۃ سے انکار کر دیا اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے لڑنا چاہا ) تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ آپ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اس فرمان کی موجودگی میں کیونکر جنگ کر سکتے ہیں ”مجھے حکم ہے لوگوں سے اس وقت تک جنگ کروں جب تک کہ وہ «لا إله إلا الله» کی شہادت نہ دیدیں اور جو شخص اس کی شہادت دیدے تو میری طرف سے اس کا مال و جان محفوظ ہو جائے گا۔ سوا اسی کے حق کے ( یعنی قصاص وغیرہ کی صورتوں کے ) اور اس کا حساب اللہ تعالیٰ کے ذمہ ہو گا۔
Narrated Haritha bin Wahab:I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "O people! Give in charity as a time will come upon you when a person will wander about with his object of charity and will not find anybody to accept it, and one (who will be requested to take it) will say, "If you had brought it yesterday, would have taken it, but today I am not in need of it
ہم سے آدم بن ابی ایاس نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے سعید بن خالد نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے حارثہ بن وہب رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ‘ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا تھا کہ صدقہ کرو ‘ ایک ایسا زمانہ بھی تم پر آنے والا ہے جب ایک شخص اپنے مال کا صدقہ لے کر نکلے گا اور کوئی اسے قبول کرنے والا نہیں پائے گا۔
Narrated `Adi bin Hatim:While I was sitting with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) two persons came to him; one of them complained about his poverty and the other complained about the prevalence of robberies. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "As regards stealing and robberies, there will shortly come a time when a caravan will go to Mecca (from Medina) without any guard. And regarding poverty, The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not be established till one of you wanders about with his object of charity and will not find anybody to accept it And (no doubt) each one of you will stand in front of Allah and there will be neither a curtain nor an interpreter between him and Allah, and Allah will ask him, 'Did not I give you wealth?' He will reply in the affirmative. Allah will further ask, 'Didn't I send a messenger to you?' And again that person will reply in the affirmative Then he will look to his right and he will see nothing but Hell-fire, and then he will look to his left and will see nothing but Hell-fire. And so, any (each one) of you should save himself from the fire even by giving half of a date-fruit (in charity). And if you do not find a half date-fruit, then (you can do it through saying) a good pleasant word (to your brethren). (See Hadith No. 793 Vol)
ہم سے عبداللہ بن محمد مسندی نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے ابوعاصم نبیل نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہمیں سعدان بن بشیر نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے ابومجاہد سعد طائی نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے محل بن خلیفہ طائی نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ میں نے عدی بن حاتم طائی رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں موجود تھا کہ دو شخص آئے ‘ ایک فقر و فاقہ کی شکایت لیے ہوئے تھا اور دوسرے کو راستوں کے غیر محفوظ ہونے کی شکایت تھی۔ اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جہاں تک راستوں کے غیر محفوظ ہونے کا تعلق ہے تو بہت جلد ایسا زمانہ آنے والا ہے کہ جب ایک قافلہ مکہ سے کسی محافظ کے بغیر نکلے گا۔ ( اور اسے راستے میں کوئی خطرہ نہ ہو گا ) اور رہا فقر و فاقہ تو قیامت اس وقت تک نہیں آئے گی جب تک ( مال و دولت کی کثرت کی وجہ سے یہ حال نہ ہو جائے کہ ) ایک شخص اپنا صدقہ لے کر تلاش کرے لیکن کوئی اسے لینے والا نہ ملے۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ کے درمیان کوئی پردہ نہ ہو گا اور نہ ترجمانی کے لیے کوئی ترجمان ہو گا۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ اس سے پوچھے گا کہ کیا میں نے تجھے دنیا میں مال نہیں دیا تھا؟ وہ کہے گا کہ ہاں دیا تھا۔ پھر اللہ تعالیٰ پوچھے گا کہ کیا میں نے تیرے پاس پیغمبر نہیں بھیجا تھا؟ وہ کہے گا کہ ہاں بھیجا تھا۔ پھر وہ شخص اپنے دائیں طرف دیکھے گا تو آگ کے سوا اور کچھ نظر نہیں آئے گا پھر بائیں طرف دیکھے گا اور ادھر بھی آگ ہی آگ ہو گی۔ پس تمہیں جہنم سے ڈرنا چاہیے خواہ ایک کھجور کے ٹکڑے ہی ( کا صدقہ کر کے اس سے اپنا بچاؤ کر سکو ) اگر یہ بھی میسر نہ آ سکے تو اچھی بات ہی منہ سے نکالے۔
Narrated Abu Musa:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A time will come upon the people when a person will wander about with gold as Zakat and will not find anybody to accept it, and one man will be seen followed by forty women to be their guardian because of scarcity of men and great number of women
ہم سے محمد بن علاء نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ابواسامہ (حماد بن اسامہ) نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا ہم سے برید بن عبداللہ نے ‘ ان سے ابوبردہ نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ لوگوں پر ضرور ایک زمانہ ایسا آ جائے گا کہ ایک شخص سونے کا صدقہ لے کر نکلے گا لیکن کوئی اسے لینے والا نہیں ملے گا اور یہ بھی ہو گا کہ ایک مرد کی پناہ میں چالیس چالیس عورتیں ہو جائیں گی کیونکہ مردوں کی کمی ہو جائے گی اور عورتوں کی زیادتی ہو گی۔
Narrated Abu Huraira:A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Which charity is the most superior in reward?" He replied, "The charity which you practice while you are healthy, niggardly and afraid of poverty and wish to become wealthy. Do not delay it to the time of approaching death and then say, 'Give so much to such and such, and so much to such and such.' And it has already belonged to such and such (as it is too late)
ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے عبدالواحد بن زیاد نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے عمارہ بن قعقاع نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے ابوزرعہ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ایک شخص نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! کس طرح کے صدقہ میں سب سے زیادہ ثواب ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اس صدقہ میں جسے تم صحت کے ساتھ بخل کے باوجود کرو۔ تمہیں ایک طرف تو فقیری کا ڈر ہو اور دوسری طرف مالدار بننے کی تمنا اور امید ہو اور ( اس صدقہ خیرات میں ) ڈھیل نہ ہونی چاہیے کہ جب جان حلق تک آ جائے تو اس وقت تو کہنے لگے کہ فلاں کے لیے اتنا اور فلاں کے لیے اتنا حالانکہ وہ تو اب فلاں کا ہو چکا۔
Narrated Haritha bin Wahab Al-Khuza`i:I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "(O people!) Give in charity (for Allah's cause) because a time will come when a person will carry his object of charity from place to place (and he will not find any person to take it) and any person whom he shall request to take it, will reply, 'If you had brought it yesterday I would have taken it, but today I am not in need of it
ہم سے علی بن جعد نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہمیں شعبہ نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ مجھے معبد بن خالد نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ میں نے حارثہ بن وہب خزاعی رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ‘ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ صدقہ کیا کرو پس عنقریب ایک ایسا زمانہ آنے والا ہے جب آدمی اپنا صدقہ لے کر نکلے گا ( کوئی اسے قبول کر لے مگر جب وہ کسی کو دے گا تو وہ ) آدمی کہے گا کہ اگر اسے تم کل لائے ہوتے تو میں لے لیتا لیکن آج مجھے اس کی حاجت نہیں رہی۔
Narrated Abu Huraira:Abu Bakr said, "By Allah! If they (pay me the Zakat and) withhold even a young (female) goat which they used to pay during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), I will fight with them for it." `Umar said, "It was nothing but Allah Who opened Abu Bakr's chest towards the decision to fight, and I came to know that his decision was right
Narrated Abu Huraira:Abu Bakr said, "By Allah! Narrated Abu Huraira The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A man from Bani Israel asked someone from Bani Israel to give him a loan of one thousand Dinars and the later gave it to him. The debtor went on a voyage (when the time for the payment of the debt became due) but he did not find a boat, so he took a piece of wood and bored it and put 1000 Dinars in it and threw it into the sea. The creditor went out and took the piece of wood to his family to be used as fire-wood." (See Hadith No. 488 B, Vol. 3). And the Prophet (ﷺ) narrated the narration (and said), "When he sawed the wood, he found his money
اور لیث نے کہا کہ مجھ سے جعفر بن ربیعہ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے عبدالرحمٰن بن ہرمز سے ‘ انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے ‘ انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہ بنی اسرائیل میں ایک شخص تھا جس نے دوسرے بنی اسرائیل کے شخص سے ہزار اشرفیاں قرض مانگیں۔ اس نے اللہ کے بھروسے پر اس کو دے دیں۔ اب جس نے قرض لیا تھا وہ سمندر پر گیا کہ سوار ہو جائے اور قرض خواہ کا قرض ادا کرے لیکن سواری نہ ملی۔ آخر اس نے قرض خواہ تک پہنچنے سے ناامید ہو کر ایک لکڑی لی اس کو کریدا اور ہزار اشرفیاں اس میں بھر کر وہ لکڑی سمندر میں پھینک دی۔ اتفاق سے قرض خواہ کام کاج کو باہر نکلا ‘ سمندر پر پہنچا تو ایک لکڑی دیکھی اور اس کو گھر میں جلانے کے خیال سے لے آیا۔ پھر پوری حدیث بیان کی۔ جب لکڑی کو چیرا تو اس میں اشرفیاں پائیں۔
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:In the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) we used to give one Sa' of food or one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley or one Sa' of Raisins (dried grapes) as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr. And when Muawiya became the Caliph and the wheat was (available in abundance) he said, "I think (observe) that one Mudd (of wheat) equals two Mudds (of any of the above mentioned things)
ہم سے عبداللہ بن منیر نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے یزید بن ابی حکیم عدنی سے سنا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے زید بن اسلم نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے عیاض بن عبداللہ بن سعد بن ابی سرح نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں صدقہ فطر ایک صاع گیہوں یا ایک صاع کھجور یا ایک صاع جَو یا ایک صاع ”زبیب“ ( خشک انگور یا خشک انجیر ) نکالتے تھے۔ پھر جب معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ مدینہ میں آئے اور گیہوں کی آمدنی ہوئی تو کہنے لگے میں سمجھتا ہوں اس کا ایک مد دوسرے اناج کے دو مد کے برابر ہے۔
