Iman (Faith) is the foundation of Islamic belief, encompassing belief in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree. Narrated `Urwa on the authority of `Aisha:On the days of Mina, (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) Abu Bakr came to her while two young girls were beating the tambourine and the Prophet (ﷺ) was lying covered with his clothes. Abu Bakr scolded them and the Prophet (ﷺ) uncovered his face and said to Abu Bakr, "Leave them, for these days are the days of `Id and the days of Mina." `Aisha further said, "Once the Prophet (ﷺ) was screening me and I was watching the display of black slaves in the Mosque and (`Umar) scolded them. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Leave them. O Bani Arfida! (carry on), you are safe (protected)
ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ان سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے عقیل نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے عروہ نے، ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ ان کے یہاں ( منٰی کے دنوں میں ) تشریف لائے اس وقت گھر میں دو لڑکیاں دف بجا رہی تھیں اور بعاث کی لڑائی کی نظمیں گا رہی تھیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چہرہ مبارک پر کپڑا ڈالے ہوئے تشریف فرما تھے۔ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان دونوں کو ڈانٹا۔ اس پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے چہرہ مبارک سے کپڑا ہٹا کر فرمایا کہ ابوبکر جانے بھی دو یہ عید کے دن ہیں ( اور وہ بھی منٰی میں ) ۔

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The Prophet (ﷺ) went out and offered a two rak`at prayer on the Day of `Id ul Fitr and did not offer any other prayer before or after it and at that time Bilal was accompanying him
ہم سے ابوولید نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھے عدی بن ثابت نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے سعید بن جبیر سے سنا، وہ ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے بیان کرتے تھے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عیدالفطر کے دن نکلے اور ( عیدگاہ ) میں دو رکعت نماز عید پڑھی۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نہ اس سے پہلے نفل نماز پڑھی اور نہ اس کے بعد۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ بلال رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے۔
Narrated Ibn `Umar: Once a person asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the night prayer. Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) replied, "The night prayer is offered as two Rak`at followed by two Rak`at and so on and if anyone is afraid of the approaching dawn (Fajr prayer) he should pray one Rak`ah and this will be a Witr for all the Rak`at which he has prayed before
ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے نافع اور عبداللہ ابن دینار سے خبر دی اور انہیں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ ایک شخص نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے رات میں نماز کے متعلق معلوم کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے پھر جب کوئی صبح ہو جانے سے ڈرے تو ایک رکعت پڑھ لے، وہ اس کی ساری نماز کو طاق بنا دے گی۔
Narrated Ibn `Abbas:Once I passed the night in the house of Maimuna (his aunt). I slept across the bed while Allah's Apostle and his wife slept length-wise. The Prophet (ﷺ) slept till midnight or nearly so and woke up rubbing his face and recited ten verses from Surat "Al-`Imran." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went towards a leather skin and performed ablution in the most perfect way and then stood for the prayer. I did the same and stood beside him. The Prophet (ﷺ) put his right hand on my head, twisted my ear and then prayed two rak`at five times and then ended his prayer with witr. He laid down till the Mu'adh-dhin came then he stood up and offered two rak`at (Sunnah of Fajr prayer) and then went out and offered the Fajr prayer. (See Hadith)
ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے امام مالک نے بیان کیا، ان سے مخرمہ بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے کریب نے اور انہیں عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے خبر دی کہ آپ ایک رات اپنی خالہ ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے یہاں سوئے ( آپ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ) میں تکیہ کے عرض میں لیٹ گیا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آپ کی بیوی لمبائی میں لیٹیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سو گئے جب آدھی رات گزر گئی یا اس کے لگ بھگ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیدار ہوئے نیند کے اثر کو چہرہ مبارک پر ہاتھ پھیر کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دور کیا۔ اس کے بعد آل عمران کی دس آیتیں پڑھیں۔ پھر ایک پرانی مشک پانی کی بھری ہوئی لٹک رہی تھی۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کے پاس گئے اور اچھی طرح وضو کیا اور نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ میں نے بھی ایسا ہی کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پیار سے اپنا داہنا ہاتھ میرے سر رکھ کر اور میرا کان پکڑ کر اسے ملنے لگے۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو رکعت نماز پڑھی، پھر دو رکعت، پھر دو رکعت، پھر دو رکعت، پھر دو رکعت، پھر دو رکعت سب بارہ رکعتیں پھر ایک رکعت وتر پڑھ کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم لیٹ گئے، یہاں تک کہ مؤذن صبح صادق کی اطلاع دینے آیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر کھڑے ہو کر دو رکعت سنت نماز پڑھی۔ پھر باہر تشریف لائے اور صبح کی نماز پڑھائی۔
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Night prayer is offered as two rak`at followed by two rak`at and so on, and if you want to finish it, pray only one rak`a which will be witr for all the previous rak`at." Al-Qasim said, "Since we attained the age of puberty we have seen some people offering a three-rak`at prayer as witr and all that is permissible. I hope there will be no harm in it
ہم سے یحییٰ بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے عبداللہ بن وہب نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں عمرو بن حارث نے خبر دی، ان سے عبدالرحمٰن بن قاسم نے اپنے باپ قاسم سے بیان کیا اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا، رات کی نماز دو، دو رکعتیں ہے اور جب تو ختم کرنا چاہے تو ایک رکعت وتر پڑھ لے جو ساری نماز کو طاق بنا دے گی۔ قاسم بن محمد نے بیان کیا کہ ہم نے بہت سوں کو تین رکعت وتر پڑھتے بھی پایا ہے اور تین یا ایک ( رکعت وتر ) سب جائز اور مجھ کو امید ہے کہ کسی میں قباحت نہ ہو گی۔
Narrated `A'isha:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to pray eleven rak`at at night and that was his night prayer and each of his prostrations lasted for a period enough for one of you to recite fifty verses before Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) raised his head. He also used to pray two rak`at (Sunnah) before the (compulsory) Fajr prayer and then lie down on his right side till the Mu'adh-dhin came to him for the prayer
ہم سے ابوالیمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں شعیب نے زہری سے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے عروہ بن زبیر نے بیان کیا کہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے انہیں خبر دی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم گیارہ رکعتیں ( وتر اور تہجد کی ) پڑھتے تھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی یہی نماز تھی۔ مراد ان کی رات کی نماز تھی۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا سجدہ ان رکعتوں میں اتنا لمبا ہوتا تھا کہ سر اٹھانے سے پہلے تم میں سے کوئی شخص بھی پچاس آیتیں پڑھ سکتا اور فجر کی نماز فرض سے پہلے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سنت دو رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے اس کے بعد ( ذرا دیر ) داہنے پہلو پر لیٹ رہتے یہاں تک کہ مئوذن بلانے کے لیے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آتا۔
Narrated Anas bin Seereen:I asked Ibn `Umar, "What is your opinion about the two rak`at before the Fajr (compulsory) prayer, as to prolonging the recitation in them?" He said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray at night two rak`at followed by two and so on, and end the prayer by one rak`ah witr. He used to offer two rak`at before the Fajr prayer immediately after the Adhan." (Hammad, the sub-narrator said, "That meant (that he prayed) quickly
ہم سے ابو نعمان نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے انس بن سیرین نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے پوچھا کہ نماز صبح سے پہلے کی دو رکعتوں کے متعلق آپ کا کیا خیال ہے؟ کیا میں ان میں لمبی قرآت کر سکتا ہوں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تو رات کی نماز ( تہجد ) دو، دو رکعت کر کے پڑھتے تھے پھر ایک رکعت پڑھ کر ان کو طاق بنا لیتے اور صبح کی نماز سے پہلے کی دو رکعتیں ( سنت فجر تو ) اس طرح پڑھتے گویا اذان ( اقامت ) کی آواز آپ کے کان میں پڑ رہی ہے۔ حماد کی اس سے مراد یہ ہے کہ آپ جلدی پڑھ لیتے۔
Narrated `Aisha:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) offered witr prayer at different nights at various hours extending (from the `Isha' prayer) up to the last hour of the night
ہم سے عمر بن حفص بن غیاث نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے میرے باپ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے اعمش نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے مسلم بن کیسان نے بیان کیا، ان سے مسروق نے، ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رات کے ہر حصہ میں بھی وتر پڑھی ہے اور آخیر میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا وتر صبح کے قریب پہنچا۔
Narrated `A'isha:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to offer his night prayer while I was sleeping across in his bed. Whenever he intended to offer the witr prayer, he used to wake me up and I would offer the witr prayer too
ہم سے مسدد بن مسرہد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ہشام بن عروہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے میرے باپ نے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے بیان کیا کہ آپ نے فرمایا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( تہجد کی ) نماز پڑھتے رہتے اور میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بستر پر عرض میں لیٹی رہتی۔ جب وتر پڑھنے لگتے تو مجھے بھی جگا دیتے اور میں بھی وتر پڑھ لیتی۔
