Narrated Ibn Shihab from `Urwa:`Aisha said, "Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) delayed the `Isha' prayer till `Umar reminded him by saying, "The prayer!" The women and children have slept. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) came out and said, 'None amongst the dwellers of the earth has been waiting for it (the prayer) except you." `Urwa said, "Nowhere except in Medina the prayer used to be offered (in those days)." He further said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) used to offer the `Isha' prayer in the period between the disappearance of the twilight and the end of the first third of the night
ہم سے ایوب بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابوبکر نے سلیمان سے، ان سے صالح بن کیسان نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے ابن شہاب نے عروہ سے خبر دی کہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بتلایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک دفعہ عشاء کی نماز میں دیر فرمائی۔ یہاں تک کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے پکارا، نماز! عورتیں اور بچے سب سو گئے۔ تب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم گھر سے باہر تشریف لائے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ روئے زمین پر تمہارے علاوہ اور کوئی اس نماز کا انتظار نہیں کرتا۔ راوی نے کہا، اس وقت یہ نماز ( باجماعت ) مدینہ کے سوا اور کہیں نہیں پڑھی جاتی تھی۔ صحابہ اس نماز کو شام کی سرخی کے غائب ہونے کے بعد رات کے پہلے تہائی حصہ تک ( کسی وقت بھی ) پڑھتے تھے۔
Narrated Ibn Juraij from Nafi`:`Abdullah bin `Umar said, "Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was busy (at the time of the `Isha'), so the prayer was delayed so much so that we slept and woke up and slept and woke up again. The Prophet (ﷺ) came out and said, 'None amongst the dwellers of the earth but you have been waiting for the prayer." Ibn `Umar did not find any harm in praying it earlier or in delaying it unless he was afraid that sleep might overwhelm him and he might miss the prayer, and sometimes he used to sleep before the `Isha' prayer. Ibn Juraij said, "I said to `Ata', 'I heard Ibn `Abbas saying: Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) delayed the `Isha' prayer to such an extent that the people slept and got up and slept again and got up again. Then `Umar bin Al-Khattab, stood up and reminded the Prophet (ﷺ) of the prayer.' `Ata' said, 'Ibn `Abbas said: The Prophet came out as if I was looking at him at this time, and water was trickling from his head and he was putting his hand on his head and then said, 'Hadn't I thought it hard for my followers, I would have ordered them to pray (`Isha' prayer) at this time.' I asked `Ata' for further information, how the Prophet had kept his hand on his head as he was told by Ibn `Abbas. `Ata' separated his fingers slightly and put their tips on the side of the head, brought the fingers downwards approximating them till the thumb touched the lobe of the ear at the side of the temple and the beard on the face. He neither slowed nor hurried in this action but he acted like that. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Hadn't I thought it hard for my followers I would have ordered them to pray at this time

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed one of the `Isha' prayer in his last days and after finishing it with Taslim, he stood up and said, "Do you realize (the importance of) this night? Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight would be living after the completion of one hundred years from this night." The people made a mistake in grasping the meaning of this statement of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and they indulged in those things which are said about these narrators (i.e. some said that the Day of Resurrection will be established after 100 years etc.) But the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Nobody present on the surface of earth tonight would be living after the completion of 100 years from this night"; he meant "When that century (people of that century) would pass away
ہم سے ابوالیمان حکم بن نافع نے بیان کیا انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں شعیب بن ابی حمزہ نے زہری سے خبر دی، کہا کہ مجھ سے سالم بن عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما اور ابوبکر بن ابی حثمہ نے حدیث بیان کی کہ عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عشاء کی نماز پڑھی اپنی زندگی کے آخری زمانے میں۔ سلام پھیرنے کے بعد آپ کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا کہ اس رات کے متعلق تمہیں کچھ معلوم ہے؟ آج اس روئے زمین پر جتنے انسان زندہ ہیں۔ سو سال بعد ان میں سے کوئی بھی باقی نہیں رہے گا۔ لوگوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا کلام سمجھنے میں غلطی کی اور مختلف باتیں کرنے لگے۔ ( ابومسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے یہ سمجھا کہ سو برس بعد قیامت آئے گی ) حالانکہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا مقصد صرف یہ تھا کہ جو لوگ آج ( اس گفتگو کے وقت ) زمین پر بستے ہیں۔ ان میں سے کوئی بھی آج سے ایک صدی بعد باقی نہیں رہے گا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا مطلب یہ تھا کہ سو برس میں یہ قرن گزر جائے گا۔
Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The Adhan pronounced by Bilal should not stop you from taking Suhur, for he pronounces the Adhan at night, so that the one offering the late night prayer (Tahajjud) from among you might hurry up and the sleeping from among you might wake up. It does not mean that dawn or morning has started." Then he (the Prophet) pointed with his fingers and raised them up (towards the sky) and then lowered them (towards the earth) like this (Ibn Mas`ud imitated the gesture of the Prophet). Az-Zuhri gestured with his two index fingers which he put on each other and then stretched them to the right and left. These gestures illustrate the way real dawn appears. It spreads left and right horizontally. The dawn that appears in the high sky and lowers down is not the real dawn
ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے زہیر بن معاویہ جعفی نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سلیمان بن طرخان تیمی نے بیان کیا ابوعثمان عبدالرحمٰن نہدی سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ بلال کی اذان تمہیں سحری کھانے سے نہ روک دے کیونکہ وہ رات رہے سے اذان دیتے ہیں یا ( یہ کہا کہ ) پکارتے ہیں۔ تاکہ جو لوگ عبادت کے لیے جاگے ہیں وہ آرام کرنے کے لیے لوٹ جائیں اور جو ابھی سوئے ہوئے ہیں وہ ہوشیار ہو جائیں۔ کوئی یہ نہ سمجھ بیٹھے کہ فجر یا صبح صادق ہو گئی اور آپ نے اپنی انگلیوں کے اشارے سے ( طلوع صبح کی کیفیت ) بتائی۔ انگلیوں کو اوپر کی طرف اٹھایا اور پھر آہستہ سے انہیں نیچے لائے اور پھر فرمایا کہ اس طرح ( فجر ہوتی ہے ) زہیر راوی نے بھی شہادت کی انگلی ایک دوسری پر رکھی، پھر انہیں دائیں بائیں جانب پھیلا دیا۔
Narrated `Aun bin Abi Juhaifa:My father said, "I saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at a place called Al-Abtah. Bilal came and informed him about the prayer and then came out with a short spear (or stick) and planted it in front of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at Al-Abtah and pronounced the Iqama
ہم سے اسحاق بن منصور نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں جعفر بن عون نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ابوالعمیس نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے عون بن ابی حجیفہ سے ابوحجیفہ کے واسطہ سے بیان کیا، کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ابطح میں دیکھا کہ بلال حاضر ہوئے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو نماز کی خبر دی پھر بلال رضی اللہ عنہ برچھی لے کر آگے بڑھے اور اسے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے ( بطور سترہ ) مقام ابطح میں گاڑ دیا اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( اس کو سترہ بنا کر ) نماز پڑھائی۔
Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went out (of the mosque) when the Iqama had been pronounced and the rows straightened. The Prophet (ﷺ) stood at his Musalla (praying place) and we waited for the Prophet (ﷺ) to begin the prayer with Takbir. He left and asked us to remain in our places. We kept on standing till the Prophet returned and the water was trickling from his head for he had taken a bath (of Janaba)
ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، وہ صالح بن کیسان سے، وہ ابن شہاب سے، وہ ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، وہ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( ایک دن حجرے سے ) باہر تشریف لائے، اقامت کہی جا چکی تھی اور صفیں برابر کی جا چکی تھیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب مصلے پر کھڑے ہوئے تو ہم انتظار کر رہے تھے کہ اب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تکبیر کہتے ہیں۔ لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم واپس تشریف لے گئے اور فرمایا کہ اپنی اپنی جگہ پر ٹھہرے رہو۔ ہم اسی حالت میں ٹھہرے رہے یہاں تک کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دوبارہ تشریف لائے، تو سر مبارک سے پانی ٹپک رہا تھا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غسل کیا تھا۔
Narrated Abu Huraira:Once Iqama was pronounced and the people had straightened the rows, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went forward (to lead the prayer) but he was Junub, so he said, "Remain in your places." And he went out, took a bath and returned with water trickling from his head. Then he led the prayer
ہم سے اسحاق بن منصور نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہمیں محمد بن یوسف فریابی نے خبر دی کہ کہا ہم سے اوزاعی نے ابن شہاب زہری سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نماز کے لیے اقامت کہی جا چکی تھی اور لوگوں نے صفیں سیدھی کر لی تھیں۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور آگے بڑھے۔ لیکن حالت جنابت میں تھے ( مگر پہلے خیال نہ رہا ) اس لیے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم لوگ اپنی اپنی جگہ ٹھہرے رہو۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم واپس تشریف لائے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم غسل کئے ہوئے تھے اور سر مبارک سے پانی ٹپک رہا تھا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائی۔
Narrated Mahmud bin Rabi` Al-Ansari:`Itban bin Malik used to lead his people (tribe) in prayer and was a blind man, he said to Allah's Apostle , "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! At times it is dark and flood water is flowing (in the valley) and I am a blind man, so please pray at a place in my house so that I can take it as a Musalla (praying place)." So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went to his house and said, "Where do you like me to pray?" 'Itban pointed to a place in his house and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), offered the prayer there
ہم سے اسماعیل بن ابی عتبان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ابن شہاب نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے محمود بن ربیع انصاری سے کہ بن مالک انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ نابینا تھے اور وہ اپنی قوم کے امام تھے۔ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اندھیری اور سیلاب کی راتیں ہوتی ہیں اور میں اندھا ہوں، اس لیے آپ میرے گھر میں کسی جگہ نماز پڑھ لیجیئے تاکہ میں وہیں اپنی نماز کی جگہ بنا لوں۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے گھر تشریف لائے اور پوچھا کہ تم کہاں نماز پڑھنا پسند کرو گے۔ انہوں نے گھر میں ایک جگہ بتلا دی اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وہاں نماز پڑھی۔
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:A cloud came and it rained till the roof started leaking and in those days the roof used to be of the branches of date-palms. Iqama was pronounced and I saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) prostrating in water and mud and even I saw the mark of mud on his forehead
ہم سے مسلم بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ہشام دستوائی نے یحییٰ بن کثیر سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے ( شب قدر کو ) پوچھا۔ آپ نے فرمایا کہ بادل کا ایک ٹکڑا آیا اور برسا یہاں تک کہ ( مسجد کی چھت ) ٹپکنے لگی جو کھجور کی شاخوں سے بنائی گئی تھی۔ پھر نماز کے لیے تکبیر ہوئی۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کیچڑ اور پانی میں سجدہ کر رہے تھے۔ کیچڑ کا نشان آپ کی پیشانی پر بھی میں نے دیکھا۔
