Narrated Jundab bin `Abdullah:Gabriel did not come to the Prophet (for some time) and so one of the Quraish women said, "His Satan has deserted him." So came the Divine Revelation: "By the forenoon And by the night When it is still! Your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither Forsaken you Nor hated you
ہم سے محمد بن کثیر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں سفیان ثوری نے اسود بن قیس سے خبر دی، ان سے جندب بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ جبرائیل علیہ السلام ( ایک مرتبہ چند دنوں تک ) نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ( وحی لے کر ) نہیں آئے تو قریش کی ایک عورت ( ام جمیل ابولہب کی بیوی ) نے کہا کہ اب اس کے شیطان نے اس کے پاس آنے سے دیر لگائی۔ اس پر یہ سورت اتری «والضحى * والليل إذا سجى * ما ودعك ربك وما قلى» ۔
Narrated Qatada:Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) and Zaid bin Thabit took their Suhur together. When they finished it, the Prophet (ﷺ) stood for the (Fajr) prayer and offered it." We asked Anas, "What was the interval between their finishing the Suhur and the starting of the morning prayer?" Anas replied, "It was equal to the time taken by a person in reciting fifty verses of the Qur'an
ہم سے یعقوب بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے روح بن عبادہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سعید بن ابی عروبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے قتادہ نے، ان سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ دونوں نے مل کر سحری کھائی، سحری سے فارغ ہو کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہو گئے اور دونوں نے نماز پڑھی۔ ہم نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ سحری سے فراغت اور نماز شروع کرنے کے درمیان کتنا فاصلہ رہا ہو گا؟ آپ نے جواب دیا کہ اتنی دیر میں ایک آدمی پچاس آیتیں پڑھ سکتا ہے۔
Narrated Samura bin Jundab:The Prophet (ﷺ) said in his narration of a dream that he saw, "He whose head was being crushed with a stone was one who learnt the Qur'an but never acted on it, and slept ignoring the compulsory prayers
ہم سے مؤمل بن ہشام نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے اسماعیل بن علیہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے عوف اعرابی نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ابورجاء نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سمرہ بن جندب رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا ان سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے خواب بیان کرتے ہوئے فرمایا کہ جس کا سر پتھر سے کچلا جا رہا تھا وہ قرآن کا حافظ تھا مگر وہ قرآن سے غافل ہو گیا اور فرض نماز پڑھے بغیر سو جایا کرتا تھا۔
Narrated `Aisha:I did not see the Prophet (ﷺ) reciting (the Qur'an) in the night prayer while sitting except when he became old; when he used to recite while sitting, and when thirty or forty verses remained from the Sura, he would get up and recite them and then bow
ہم سے محمد بن مثنی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے بیان کیا اور انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ہشام بن عروہ نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے میرے باپ عروہ نے خبر دی کہ عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بتلایا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو رات کی کسی نماز میں بیٹھ کر قرآن پڑھتے نہیں دیکھا۔ یہاں تک کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بوڑھے ہو گئے تو بیٹھ کر قرآن پڑھتے تھے لیکن جب تیس چالیس آیتیں رہ جاتیں تو کھڑے ہو جاتے پھر اس کو پڑھ کر رکوع کرتے تھے۔
Narrated Abu Huraira:That once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Your brother, i.e. `Abdullah bin Rawaha does not say obscene (referring to his verses): Amongst us is Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), who recites His Book when it dawns. He showed us the guidance, after we were blind. We believe that whatever he says will come true. And he spends his nights in such a way as his sides do not touch his bed. While the pagans were deeply asleep
ہم سے یحییٰ بن بکیر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے یونس نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ کو ہیثم بن ابی سنان نے خبر دی کہ انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، آپ اپنے وعظ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ذکر کر رہے تھے۔ پھر آپ نے فرمایا کہ تمہارے بھائی نے ( اپنے نعتیہ اشعار میں ) یہ کوئی غلط بات نہیں کہی۔ آپ کی مراد عبداللہ بن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ اور ان کے اشعار سے تھی جن کا ترجمہ یہ ہے: ”ہم میں اللہ کے رسول موجود ہیں، جو اس کی کتاب اس وقت ہمیں سناتے ہیں جب فجر طلوع ہوتی ہے۔ ہم تو اندھے تھے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں گمراہی سے نکال کر صحیح راستہ دکھایا۔ ان کی باتیں اسی قدر یقینی ہیں جو ہمارے دلوں کے اندر جا کر بیٹھ جاتی ہیں اور جو کچھ آپ نے فرمایا وہ ضرور واقع ہو گا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات بستر سے اپنے کو الگ کر کے گزارتے ہیں جبکہ مشرکوں سے ان کے بستر بوجھل ہو رہے ہوتے ہیں“۔ یونس کی طرح اس حدیث کو عقیل نے بھی زہری سے روایت کیا اور زبیدی نے یوں کہا سعید بن مسیب اور اعرج سے، انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے۔
Narrated `Aisha:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to make the two rak`at before the Fajr prayer so light that I would wonder whether he recited Al-Fatiha (or not)
مجھ سے محمد بن بشار نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، ان سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے محمد بن عبدالرحمٰن نے، ان سے ان کی پھوپھی عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمٰن نے اور ان سے عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( دوسری سند ) اور ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے زہیر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید انصاری نے بیان کیا، ان سے محمد بن عبدالرحمٰن نے، ان سے عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمٰن نے اور ان سے عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صبح کی ( فرض ) نماز سے پہلے کی دو ( سنت ) رکعتوں کو بہت مختصر رکھتے تھے۔ آپ نے ان میں سورۃ فاتحہ بھی پڑھی یا نہیں میں یہ بھی نہیں کہہ سکتی۔
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:The Prophet (ﷺ) used to teach us the way of doing Istikhara (Istikhara means to ask Allah to guide one to the right sort of action concerning any job or a deed), in all matters as he taught us the Suras of the Qur'an. He said, "If anyone of you thinks of doing any job he should offer a two rak`at prayer other than the compulsory ones and say (after the prayer): -- 'Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, Wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, Wa as'alaka min fadlika Al-`azlm Fa-innaka taqdiru Wala aqdiru, Wa ta'lamu Wala a'lamu, Wa anta 'allamu l-ghuyub. Allahumma, in kunta ta'lam anna hadha-lamra Khairun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati `Amri (or 'ajili `Amri wa'ajilihi) Faqdirhu wa yas-sirhu li thumma barik li Fihi, Wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadha-lamra shar-run li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati `Amri (or fi'ajili `Amri wa ajilihi) Fasrifhu anni was-rifni anhu. Waqdir li al-khaira haithu kana Thumma ardini bihi.' (O Allah! I ask guidance from Your knowledge, And Power from Your Might and I ask for Your great blessings. You are capable and I am not. You know and I do not and You know the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this job is good for my religion and my subsistence and in my Hereafter--(or said: If it is better for my present and later needs)--Then You ordain it for me and make it easy for me to get, And then bless me in it, and if You know that this job is harmful to me In my religion and subsistence and in the Hereafter--(or said: If it is worse for my present and later needs)--Then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. And ordain for me whatever is good for me, And make me satisfied with it). The Prophet (ﷺ) added that then the person should name (mention) his need
Narrated Kuraib Maula Ibn `Abbas:`Abdullah bin `Abbas said that he had passed a night in the house of Maimuna the mother of the faithful believers , who was his aunt. He said, "I slept across the bed, and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) along with his wife slept lengthwise. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) slept till midnight or slightly before or after it. Then Allah's Apostle woke up, sat, and removed the traces of sleep by rubbing his hands over his face. Then he recited the last ten verses of Surat-Al `Imran (2). Then he went towards a hanging leather watercontainer and performed a perfect ablution and then stood up for prayer." `Abdullah bin `Abbas added, "I got up and did the same as Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had done and then went and stood by his side. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then put his right hand over my head and caught my right ear and twisted it. He offered two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at, then two rak`at and then offered one rak`a witr. Then he lay down till the Mu'adh-dhin came and then he prayed two light rak`at and went out and offered the early morning (Fajr) prayer
ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف تنیسی نے بیان کیا، انہیں امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے خبر دی، انہیں مخرمہ بن سلیمان نے خبر دی، انہیں ابن عباس کے غلام کریب نے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے خبر دی کہ آپ ایک رات ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے یہاں سوئے۔ ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا آپ کی خالہ تھیں۔ آپ نے بیان کیا کہ میں بستر کے عرض میں لیٹ گیا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آپ کی بیوی اس کے طول میں لیٹے۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سو گئے حتیٰ کہ آدھی رات ہوئی یا اس سے تھوڑی دیر پہلے یا بعد۔ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیدار ہو کر بیٹھ گئے اور چہرے سے نیند کے خمار کو اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں سے دور کرنے لگے۔ پھر سورۃ آل عمران کے آخر کی دس آیتیں پڑھیں اس کے بعد پانی کی ایک مشک کے پاس گئے جو لٹک رہی تھی، اس سے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اچھی طرح وضو کیا، پھر کھڑے ہو کر نماز شروع کی۔ عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ میں بھی اٹھا اور جس طرح نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کیا تھا میں نے بھی کیا اور پھر جا کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پہلو میں کھڑا ہو گیا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا داہنا ہاتھ میرے سر پر رکھا اور میرے داہنے کان کو پکڑ کر اسے اپنے ہاتھ سے مروڑنے لگے۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو رکعت نماز پڑھی، پھر دو رکعت پڑھی، پھر دو رکعت پڑھی، پھر دو رکعت پڑھی، پھر دو رکعت پڑھی، پھر دو رکعت پڑھی۔ اس کے بعد ( ایک رکعت ) وتر پڑھا اور لیٹ گئے۔ جب مؤذن آیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دوبارہ اٹھے اور دو ہلکی رکعتیں پڑھ کر باہر نماز ( فجر ) کے لیے تشریف لے گئے۔
Narrated Zaid bin Arqam:In the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) we used to speak while praying, and one of us would tell his needs to his companions, till the verse, 'Guard strictly your prayers (2.238) was revealed. After that we were ordered to remain silent while praying
ہم سے ابراہیم بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو عیسیٰ بن یونس نے خبر دی، انہیں اسماعیل بن ابی خالد نے، انہیں حارث بن شبیل نے، انہیں ابوعمرو بن سعد بن ابی ایاس شیبانی نے بتایا کہ مجھ سے زید بن ارقم رضی اللہ عنہ نے بتلایا کہ ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے عہد میں نماز پڑھنے میں باتیں کر لیا کرتے تھے۔ کوئی بھی اپنے قریب کے نمازی سے اپنی ضرورت بیان کر دیتا۔ پھر آیت «حافظوا على الصلوات الخ» اتری اور ہمیں ( نماز میں ) خاموش رہنے کا حکم ہوا۔
Narrated `Aisha:Once the sun eclipsed and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood up for the prayer and recited a very long Sura and then bowed for a long while and then raised his head and started reciting another Sura. Then he bowed, and after finishing, he prostrated and did the same in the second rak`a and then said, "These (lunar and solar eclipses) are two of the signs of Allah and if you see them, pray till the eclipse is over. No doubt, while standing at this place I saw everything promised to me by Allah and I saw (Paradise) and I wanted to pluck a bunch (of grapes) therefrom, at the time when you saw me stepping forward. No doubt, I saw Hell with its different parts destroying each other when you saw me retreating and in it I saw `Amr bin Luhai who started the tradition of freeing animals (set them free) in the name of idols
ہم سے محمد بن مقاتل نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو عبداللہ بن مبارک نے خبر دی، کہا کہ ہم کو یونس نے خبر دی، انہیں زہری نے، ان سے عروہ نے بیان کیا کہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بتلایا کہ جب سورج گرہن لگا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( نماز کے لیے ) کھڑے ہوئے اور ایک لمبی سورت پڑھی۔ پھر رکوع کیا اور بہت لمبا رکوع کیا۔ پھر سر اٹھایا اس کے بعد دوسری سورت شروع کر دی، پھر رکوع کیا اور رکوع پورا کر کے اس رکعت کو ختم کیا اور سجدے میں گئے۔ پھر دوسری رکعت میں بھی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسی طرح کیا، نماز سے فارغ ہو کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ سورج اور چاند اللہ کی نشانیوں میں سے دو نشانیاں ہیں۔ اس لیے جب تم ان میں گرہن دیکھو تو نماز شروع کر دو جب تک کہ یہ صاف ہو جائے اور دیکھو میں نے اپنی اسی جگہ سے ان تمام چیزوں کو دیکھ لیا ہے جن کا مجھ سے وعدہ ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ میں نے یہ بھی دیکھا کہ میں جنت کا ایک خوشہ لینا چاہتا ہوں۔ ابھی تم لوگوں نے دیکھا ہو گا کہ میں آگے بڑھنے لگا تھا اور میں نے دوزخ بھی دیکھی ( اس حالت میں کہ ) بعض آگ بعض آگ کو کھائے جا رہی تھی۔ تم لوگوں نے دیکھا ہو گا کہ جہنم کے اس ہولناک منظر کو دیکھ کر میں پیچھے ہٹ گیا تھا۔ میں نے جہنم کے اندر عمرو بن لحیی کو دیکھا۔ یہ وہ شخص ہے جس نے سانڈ کی رسم عرب میں جاری کی تھی۔ ( نوٹ: سانڈ کی رسم سے مراد کہ اونٹنی کو غیر اللہ کے نام پر چھوڑ دینا حتیٰ کہ سواری اور دودھ بھی نہ دھونا۔)
