Narrated `Abdullah bin Abu `Aufa:A man displayed some goods in the market and took a false oath that he had been offered so much for them though he was not offered that amount Then the following Divine Verse was revealed:-- "Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths . . . Will get painful punishment." (3.77) Ibn Abu `Aufa added, "Such person as described above is a treacherous Riba eater (i.e. eater of usury)
مجھ سے اسحاق نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو یزید بن ہارون نے خبر دی، انہیں عوام نے خبر دی، کہا کہ مجھ سے ابراہیم ابواسماعیل سکسکی نے بیان کیا اور انہوں نے عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہ کو یہ کہتے سنا کہ ایک شخص نے اپنا سامان دکھا کر اللہ کی قسم کھائی کہ اسے اس سامان کا اتنا روپیہ مل رہا تھا، حالانکہ اتنا نہیں مل رہا تھا۔ اس پر یہ آیت نازل ہوئی «إن الذين يشترون بعهد الله وأيمانهم ثمنا قليلا» ”جو لوگ اللہ کے عہد اور اپنی قسموں کے ذریعہ تھوڑی قیمت حاصل کرتے ہیں۔“ ابن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ گاہکوں کو پھانسنے کے لیے قیمت بڑھانے والا سود خور کی طرح خائن ہے۔
Narrated Abu Wail from `Abdullah:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever takes a false oath in order to grab another man's (or his brother's) property, then Allah will be angry with him when he will meet him." Then Allah confirmed this by revealing the Divine Verse: "Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's Covenant and their oaths . . . Will get painful punishment." (3.77) Al-Ash'ath met me and asked, "What did `Abdullah tell you today?" I said, "So and so." He said, "The Verse was revealed regarding my case

Narrated `Abdullah:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever has to take an oath should swear by Allah or remain silent." (i.e. He should not swear by other than Allah)
ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے جویریہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ نافع نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”اگر کسی کو قسم کھانی ہی ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ ہی کی قسم کھائے، ورنہ خاموش رہے۔“
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Abbas:Abu Sufyan told me that Heraclius said to him, "When I inquired you what he (i.e. Muhammad) ordered you, you replied that he ordered you to establish the prayer, to speak the truth, to be chaste, to keep promises and to pay back trusts." ہم سے ابرہیم بن حمزہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ابراہیم بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے صالح بن کیسان نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ نے کہ عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے انہیں خبر دی، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ انہیں ابوسفیان رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ ہرقل نے ان سے کہا تھا کہ میں نے تم سے پوچھا تھا کہ وہ ( محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) تمہیں کس بات کا حکم دیتے ہیں تو تم نے بتایا کہ وہ تمہیں نماز، سچائی، عفت، عہد کے پورا کرنے اور امانت کے ادا کرنے کا حکم دیتے ہیں۔ اور یہ نبی کی صفات ہیں۔
Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: (1) whenever he speaks, he tells a lie, (2) whenever he is entrusted, he proves to be dishonest, (3) whenever he promises, he breaks his promise
ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے اسماعیل بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوسہیل، نافع بن مالک بن ابی عامر نے بیان کیا، ان سے ان کے باپ نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”منافق کی تین نشانیاں ہیں۔ جب بات کہی تو جھوٹ کہی، امانت دی گئی تو اس نے اس میں خیانت کی اور وعدہ کیا تو اسے پورا نہیں کیا۔“
Narrated Muhammad bin `Ali:Jabir bin `Abdullah said, "When the Prophet (ﷺ) died, Abu Bakr received some property from Al-`Ala bin Al-Hadrami. Abu Bakr said to the people, "Whoever has a money claim on the Prophet, or was promised something by him, should come to us (so that we may pay him his right)." Jabir added, "I said (to Abu Bakr), Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) promised me that he would give me this much, and this much, and this much (spreading his hands three times)." Jabir added, "Abu Bakr counted for me and handed me five-hundred (gold pieces), and then five-hundred, and then five-hundred
ہم سے ابراہیم بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہمیں ہشام نے خبر دی، ان سے ابن جریج نے بیان کیا، انہیں عمرو بن دینار نے خبر دی، انہیں محمد بن علی نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا، کہا نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی وفات کے بعد ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس ( بحرین کے عامل ) علاء بن حضرمی رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف سے مال آیا۔ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اعلان کرا دیا کہ جس کسی کا بھی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر کوئی قرض ہو، یا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا اس سے وعدہ ہو تو وہ ہمارے پاس آئے۔ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ اس پر میں نے ان سے کہا کہ مجھ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وعدہ فرمایا تھا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اتنا مال مجھے عطا فرمائیں گے۔ چنانچہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے تین مرتبہ اپنے ہاتھ بڑھائے اور میرے ہاتھ پر پانچ سو، پھر پانچ سو اور پھر پانچ سو گن دئیے۔
Narrated Anas:Ar-Rabi, the daughter of An-Nadr broke the tooth of a girl, and the relatives of Ar-Rabi` requested the girl's relatives to accept the Irsh (compensation for wounds etc.) and forgive (the offender), but they refused. So, they went to the Prophet (ﷺ) who ordered them to bring about retaliation. Anas bin An-Nadr asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Will the tooth of Ar-Rabi` be broken? No, by Him Who has sent you with the Truth, her tooth will not be broken." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O Anas! Allah's law ordains retaliation." Later the relatives of the girl agreed and forgave her. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There are some of Allah's slaves who, if they take an oath by Allah, are responded to by Allah i.e. their oath is fulfilled). Anas added, "The people agreed and accepted the Irsh
ہم سے محمد بن عبداللہ انصاری نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے حمید نے بیان کیا اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ نضر کی بیٹی ربیع رضی اللہ عنہا نے ایک لڑکی کے دانت توڑ دئیے۔ اس پر لڑکی والوں نے تاوان مانگا اور ان لوگوں نے معافی چاہی، لیکن معاف کرنے سے انہوں نے انکار کیا۔ چنانچہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بدلہ لینے کا حکم دیا۔ ( یعنی ان کا بھی دانت توڑ دیا جائے ) انس بن نضر رضی اللہ عنہ نے عرض کیا، یا رسول اللہ! ربیع کا دانت کس طرح توڑا جا سکے گا۔ نہیں اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ مبعوث فرمایا ہے، اس کا دانت نہیں توڑا جائے گا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا انس! کتاب اللہ کا فیصلہ تو بدلہ لینے ( قصاص ) ہی کا ہے۔ چنانچہ یہ لوگ راضی ہو گئے اور معاف کر دیا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ کے کچھ بندے ایسے بھی ہیں کہ اگر وہ اللہ کی قسم کھا لیں تو اللہ تعالیٰ خود ان کی قسم پوری کرتا ہے۔ فزاری نے ( اپنی روایت میں ) حمید سے، اور انہوں نے انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ زیادتی نقل کی ہے کہ وہ لوگ راضی ہو گئے اور تاوان لے لیا۔
Narrated `Urwa: Aisha told me, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to examine them according to this Verse: "O you who believe! When the believing women come to you, as emigrants test them . . . for Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful." (60.10-12) Aisha said, "When any of them agreed to that condition Allah's Apostle would say to her, 'I have accepted your pledge of allegiance.' He would only say that, but, by Allah he never touched the hand of any women (i.e. never shook hands with them) while taking the pledge of allegiance and he never took their pledge of allegiance except by his words (only)
عروہ نے کہا کہ مجھے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے خبر دی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہجرت کرنے والی عورتوں کا اس آیت کی وجہ سے امتحان لیا کرتے تھے «{ يا أيها الذين آمنوا إذا جاءكم المؤمنات مهاجرات فامتحنوهن } إلى { غفور رحيم }.» ”اے مسلمانو! جب تمہارے یہاں مسلمان عورتیں ہجرت کر کے آئیں تو تم ان کا امتحان لے لو غفور رحیم تک۔“ عروہ نے کہا کہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ ان عورتوں میں سے جو اس شرط کا اقرار کر لیتیں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے کہ میں نے تم سے بیعت کی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صرف زبان سے بیعت کرتے تھے۔ قسم اللہ کی! بیعت کرتے وقت آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہاتھ نے کسی بھی عورت کے ہاتھ کو کبھی نہیں چھوا، بلکہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صرف زبان سے بیعت لیا کرتے تھے۔
Narrated Jarir:When I gave the pledge of allegiance to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he stipulated that I should give good advice to every Muslim
ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان نے بیان کیا، ان سے زیاد بن علاقہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے جریر رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، آپ بیان کرتے تھے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت کی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے ہر مسلمان کے ساتھ خیر خواہی کرنے کی شرط پر بیعت کی تھی۔
