Narrated Um 'Atiyya:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) , concerning his (dead) daughter's bath, said, "Start with the right side, and the parts which are washed in ablution
ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے اسماعیل بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے خالد نے بیان کیا، ان سے حفصہ بنت سیرین نے اور ان سے ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی بیٹی کے غسل کے وقت فرمایا تھا کہ دائیں طرف سے اور اعضاء وضو سے غسل شروع کرنا۔
Narrated Um 'Atiyya:When we washed the deceased daughter of the Prophet, he said to us, while we were washing her, "Start the bath from the right side and from the parts which are washed in ablution
ہم سے یحییٰ بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے وکیع نے بیان کیا، ان سے سفیان نے، ان سے خالد حذاء نے، ان سے حفصہ بنت سیرین نے اور ان سے ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی صاحبزادی کو ہم غسل دے رہی تھیں۔ جب ہم نے غسل شروع کر دیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ غسل دائیں طرف سے اور اعضاء وضو سے شروع کرو۔
Narrated Ibn Seereen:Um 'Atiyya (an Ansari woman who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ) ) came to Basra to visit her son, but she could not find him. She narrated to us, "The Prophet (ﷺ) came to us while we were giving bath to his (dead) daughter, he said: 'Wash her three times, five times or more, if you think it necessary, with water and Sidr, and last of all put camphor, and when you finish, notify me.' " Um 'Atiyya added, "After finishing, we informed him and he gave us his waist sheet and told us to shroud her in it and did not say more than that
ہم سے احمد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے عبداللہ بن وہب نے بیان کیا، انہیں ابن جریج نے خبر دی، انہیں ایوب نے خبر دی، کہا کہ میں نے ابن سیرین سے سنا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے یہاں انصار کی ان خواتین میں سے جنہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت کی تھی، ایک عورت آئی، بصرہ میں انہیں اپنے ایک بیٹے کی تلاش تھی۔ لیکن وہ نہ ملا۔ پھر اس نے ہم سے یہ حدیث بیان کی کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی صاحبزادی کو غسل دے رہی تھیں کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور فرمایا کہ تین یا پانچ مرتبہ غسل دے دو اور اگر مناسب سمجھو تو اس سے بھی زیادہ دے سکتی ہو۔ غسل پانی اور بیری کے پتوں سے ہونا چاہیے اور آخر میں کافور بھی استعمال کر لینا۔ غسل سے فارغ ہو کر مجھے خبر کرا دینا۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ جب ہم غسل دے چکیں ( تو اطلاع دی ) اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ازار عنایت کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اسے اندر بدن سے لپیٹ دو۔ اس سے زیادہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کچھ نہیں فرمایا۔ مجھے یہ نہیں معلوم کہ یہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی کون سی بیٹی تھیں ( یہ ایوب نے کہا ) اور انہوں نے بتایا کہ «إشعار» کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ اس میں نعش لپیٹ دی جائے۔ ابن سیرین رحمہ اللہ بھی یہی فرمایا کرتے تھے کہ عورت کے بدن پر اسے لپیٹا جائے ازار کے طور پر نہ باندھا جائے۔
Narrated `Aisha:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was shrouded in three Yemenite white Suhuliya (pieces of cloth) of cotton, and in them there was neither a shirt nor a turban
ہم سے محمد بن مقاتل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم کو عبداللہ نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں ہشام بن عروہ نے خبر دی، انہیں ان کے باپ عروہ بن زبیر نے اور انہیں (ان کی خالہ) ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یمن کے تین سفید سوتی دھلے ہوئے کپڑوں میں کفن دیا گیا ان میں نہ قمیص تھی نہ عمامہ۔
Narrated Ibn `Umar:When `Abdullah bin Ubai (the chief of hypocrites) died, his son came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Please give me your shirt to shroud him in it, offer his funeral prayer and ask for Allah's forgiveness for him." So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) gave his shirt to him and said, "Inform me (When the funeral is ready) so that I may offer the funeral prayer." So, he informed him and when the Prophet intended to offer the funeral prayer, `Umar took hold of his hand and said, "Has Allah not forbidden you to offer the funeral prayer for the hypocrites? The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have been given the choice for Allah says: '(It does not avail) Whether you (O Muhammad) ask forgiveness for them (hypocrites), or do not ask for forgiveness for them. Even though you ask for their forgiveness seventy times, Allah will not forgive them. (9.80)" So the Prophet (ﷺ) offered the funeral prayer and on that the revelation came: "And never (O Muhammad) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (i.e. hypocrites) that dies
ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبیداللہ عمری نے کہا کہ مجھ سے نافع نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے بیان کیا کہ جب عبداللہ بن ابی ( منافق ) کی موت ہوئی تو اس کا بیٹا ( عبداللہ صحابی ) نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں آیا اور عرض کی کہ یا رسول اللہ! والد کے کفن کے لیے آپ اپنی قمیص عنایت فرمائیے اور ان پر نماز پڑھئے اور مغفرت کی دعا کیجئے۔ چنانچہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی قمیص ( غایت مروت کی وجہ سے ) عنایت کی اور فرمایا کہ مجھے بتانا میں نماز جنازہ پڑھوں گا۔ عبداللہ نے اطلاع بھجوائی۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز پڑھانے کے لیے آگے بڑھے تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پیچھے سے پکڑ لیا اور عرض کیا کہ کیا اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کو منافقین کی نماز جنازہ پڑھنے سے منع نہیں کیا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ مجھے اختیار دیا گیا ہے جیسا کہ ارشاد باری ہے ”تو ان کے لیے استغفار کر یا نہ کر اور اگر تو ستر مرتبہ بھی استغفار کرے تو بھی اللہ انہیں ہرگز معاف نہیں کرے گا“ چنانچہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نماز پڑھائی۔ اس کے بعد یہ آیت اتری ”کسی بھی منافق کی موت پر اس کی نماز جنازہ کبھی نہ پڑھانا“۔

ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ہشام بن عروہ نے ‘ ان سے عروہ بن زبیر نے ‘ ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو تین سوتی دھلے ہوئے کپڑوں کا کفن دیا گیا تھا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے کفن میں نہ قمیص تھی اور نہ عمامہ۔

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، ان سے یحییٰ نے ان سے ہشام نے ان سے ان کے باپ عروہ بن زبیر نے ان سے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو تین کپڑوں میں کفن دیا گیا تھا جن میں نہ قمیص تھی اور نہ عمامہ تھا۔ امام ابوعبداللہ بخاری رحمہ اللہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ابونعیم نے لفظ «ثلاثة» نہیں کہا اور عبداللہ بن ولید نے سفیان سے لفظ «ثلاثة» نقل کیا ہے۔

ہم سے اسماعیل نے بیان کیا کہا کہ مجھ سے مالک نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ہشام بن عروہ نے ‘ ان سے ان کے باپ عروہ بن زبیر نے ‘ ان سے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سحول کے تین سفید کپڑوں کا کفن دیا گیا تھا نہ ان میں قمیص تھی اور نہ عمامہ تھا۔
Narrated `Abdullah bin 'Ubaidullah bin Abi Mulaika:One of the daughters of `Uthman died at Mecca. We went to attend her funeral procession. Ibn `Umar and Ibn `Abbas were also present. I sat in between them (or said, I sat beside one of them. Then a man came and sat beside me.) `Abdullah bin `Umar said to `Amr bin `Uthman, "Will you not prohibit crying as Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) has said, 'The dead person is tortured by the crying of his relatives.?" Ibn `Abbas said, "`Umar used to say so." Then he added narrating, "I accompanied `Umar on a journey from Mecca till we reached Al-Baida. There he saw some travelers in the shade of a Samura (A kind of forest tree). He said (to me), "Go and see who those travelers are." So I went and saw that one of them was Suhaib. I told this to `Umar who then asked me to call him. So I went back to Suhaib and said to him, "Depart and follow the chief of the faithful believers." Later, when `Umar was stabbed, Suhaib came in weeping and saying, "O my brother, O my friend!" (on this `Umar said to him, "O Suhaib! Are you weeping for me while the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The dead person is punished by some of the weeping of his relatives?" Ibn `Abbas added, "When `Umar died I told all this to Aisha and she said, 'May Allah be merciful to `Umar. By Allah, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not say that a believer is punished by the weeping of his relatives. But he said, Allah increases the punishment of a non-believer because of the weeping of his relatives." Aisha further added, "The Qur'an is sufficient for you (to clear up this point) as Allah has stated: 'No burdened soul will bear another's burden.' " (35.18). Ibn `Abbas then said, "Only Allah makes one laugh or cry." Ibn `Umar did not say anything after that
